The concept behind fractals is only a few decades old, and yet it is an increasingly popular and researched study. Its implications are being felt in areas of study far removed from mathematics. Just looking at these images it is difficult to not see connections with other areas of life that on the surface don't immediately impress someone as being mathematical.
