About The Site

Hi there, and thanks for stopping by. I'm Robert Chesnavich, and this is my fractal art web site. Within these pages you can find examples of my work, a list of the products and services offered, and perhaps most importantly information on what seems to make this artform so powerful.

Even if you are one who recoils at the mere mention of mathematics you are invited you to take a look around. The appeal of these images I believe can resonate with all regardless of background, education or experience. This site is named Fractal Ideas because while the images themselves take a form of ever deepening complexity, it is the ideas that it can generate in the veiwer that I believe is the key to their mystery. No matter the perspective one brings there is likely to be a corresponding idea waiting to be generated, one which though based on universal laws and principles, is wholly unique to the individual encountering them.

I began working with fractal images in early 2003, and have enjoyed creating them ever since. I hope that you get the same sense of wonder from looking at these that I often have in making them.

Sorry for the lack of updates here. There have been quite a number of new images added to the site since the lasy entry, and I'll probably continue adding more. I have also started working on fractal movies that I'll make available once they're in a high enough quality to make me happy.

Anyway, the main update for today is that I have made all images available for free download. The services page explains it in more detail. Since I've just now set this up please email me if any of the links are broken or images corrupted.

The site is now complete, at least insofar as all of the pages existing and having some nominal text.

We're live! There's an awful lot that still needs to be done, so please excuse the clutter. But the gallery is up, and items can be purchased, by email only for the time being.

I'll update this page as more material and parts of the site are added. For the moment I just want to thank you for stopping by and checking the site out. This work has been way more fulfilling than I would have ever guessed. Being able to make something that appeals to others means more to me than I had realized, and so I hope there are things in this body of work that appeal to you as well.
